FAQ
The Answers You Need
HOW SOON SHOULD WE START TAKING DANCE LESSONS?
At Just Dance Cairns, we suggest starting to take lessons as early as possible. Â Try and book in for some lessons at least 2 or 3 months prior to your wedding. Â This way, you can go away and practice your Bridal Waltz and then come back for a lesson in the fortnight leading up to your wedding to give it the final polish.
WHAT SONG SHOULD WE CHOOSE?
The best first dance song is a song that has a special meaning to you both. Â It might be the song that was playing when you had your first kiss or be your song. Â Whatever your song, we can tailor a routine to suit.
WHAT DANCE SHOULD WE CHOOSE?
Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to dance a Waltz as your first dance.  The choice is completely up to you and what music you select.  We will teach you a dance to fit properly with your music.
We have choreographed routines to all sorts of music so whatever your choice, we can make a routine that will be memorable for you both.
HOW MANY LESSONS DO WE NEED?
This depends on how advanced you would like your first dance to be and if you have any prior dancing experience.  We recommend  a minimum of 5 half hour lessons and plenty or practice. However, if you wish for a more complex routine, more lessons will generally be required.
WHAT IF I HAVE LEFT IT TO THE LAST MINUTE?
Call us straight away! Â We can still put together your first dance so that it will impress. The best thing to do is to call us and we can make the necessary arrangements.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO LESSONS?
Ideally, wear shoes that will be the same or similar to your wedding shoes. If this is not possible, the lady should try and wear a pair of heels that are a similar height to her wedding shoes.
The bride to be should try and wear a long skirt to at least one lesson. Â It is incredible how much different it feels for the man when the bride suddenly has 10 metres of fabric around her legs.
WHERE ARE THE LESSONS AND WHEN ARE YOU AVAILABLE?
We are available for lessons in Cairns from Sunday - Friday, by appointment. Our studio is located at the 44 Morehead Street, Cairns and is fully air-conditioned for your comfort.
